About Emergency Care at St. Luke's Wood River
The St. Luke’s Wood River Emergency Department is a Level IV Trauma center as designated by the Idaho State Time Sensitive Emergencies Council. Our ED is staffed 24/7 by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses certified in trauma, emergency pediatrics, advanced cardiac life support, and sexual assault evidence collection.
We also have experienced orthopedists on call at all times. When needed, two-way cameras and remote virtual care equipment can bring St. Luke’s specialists right to your bedside – even from miles away.
Our facility has private treatment rooms, trauma rooms, and an outpatient infusion center. We also offer on-site CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, and lab services. If necessary, we’ll transfer you to the most appropriate hospital for your specific needs. We work closely with both St. Luke’s and Saint Alphonsus hospitals in Boise.
St. Luke’s also works in close partnership with the Wood River Sawtooth Region EMS Association to continually improve the quality of and access to emergency services for people in Blaine, Camas, and Custer counties.

Do I need Emergency or Urgent Care?
Emergency care is intended for anyone in a life-threatening situation, and for anyone facing risk of disability or lasting harm.
Urgent care offers medical treatment for illnesses or injuries that require immediate attention but are not life-threatening.
